transmissive

So, sabominator, dano, and I spent all day Saturday (and a good part of the evening) bolting the new transmission into place. Everything ran fine Saturday, drove the car home from CT, a few times yesterday, and into work today.

While waiting in line at Dunkin' Donuts this morning, the transmission became completely stuck in first gear. The shift lever is in neutral, and can move around, and can actually select reverse or fifth... which makes me think that the 1/2 shift fork is either bent, broken, or otherwise damaged.

Hopefully, the rest of the gearbox is okay. I'm really hoping so.

At this point, I'm tired of fighting. The car wins. I'm going to bring it to the dealership and pay to get the transmission dropped, opened, repaired, and reinstalled. I'm battered, beaten, and exhausted.

Worst day in recent memory.

Sorry I wasn't there to help out. I've been nursing my own car along and haven't had much time to myself. Sorry that day sucked, but I'm glad it's all back together now.
