So, it's been a crazy long time since I've updated this at all, but I know that there are a few people out there in network-land who have been reading it. At this point, katsumi over at decepticonz.net has updated his blog more often than I... and when that happens, something must be done about it.
In somewhat recent news (that is, the past two months), my dad has been doing fine since his stroke (thanks to everyone for their sympathy and concern), I failed to get a trophy spot in the Boston BMWCCA ice races (damn), my car's transmission ate itself for lunch ($3k repairs hurt the wallet), and I've continued my desperate, boring, single life.
These days, it seems that everyone around me has been meeting other wonderful people, or, have otherwise found themselves happy and satisfied with their respective lives. I, on the other hand, get increasingly more bitter and ornery, as my life seems to stagnate.
I pretty much do the same thing every day... wake up, go to work, sit on the computer all day programming and chatting, go to a meeting or three, then leave the office. I go home, eat, and sleep.
My weekends are, pretty much, my only saving grace. I've stayed pretty busy the last few weeks, usually with things regarding cars, motorsports, or music. When rt was out east (in Portland, ME), we ended up catching Andy C down in Boston as he put down a blistering drum 'n bass set... and this past weekend, I volunteered to work a checkpoint at a New England Hillclimb Association event at Mount Ascutney in Vermont. There's nothing quite like seeing a 600HP tubular-steel framed, open-wheel car go flying past you as it sets a new record for climbing the twisty mountain road.
This weekend, I'm trekking around Massachusetts and New Hampshire to go to NESIC meets and gatherings and, possibly, the MIT Flea on Sunday. Next weekend is a rally-X event at Team O'Neil, and the following weekend is the Susquehannock Trail ProRally. It looks like I'll be flying to St. Louis during the first, and maybe second weeks of June for a business trip.
Anyway, that's the current coredump of my brain. I hope to get back and update this more often, as I'm such an interesting person that, I'm sure, you're all just itching to hear what I do next.
Cheers.
