shaving my face with a sex toy...

... or at least, that's how it felt.

I needed a new razor handle for my home shaving supplies, since I lost my Mach3 handle foreverago, and I've been using the same rusty disposable for nearly six months. At only a few dollars more than a standard Mach3 handle, I picked up the Mach3 Power handle (with a AAA battery inside). This razor actually vibrates, presumably to "stimulate the hairs to stand on end" or some other dubious marketable reason. I figured it was worth a shot.

When shaving with the thing, it feels like your skin is completely numb. You can't tell where the blade is on your face, or if you're actually getting any of the hair off. It's incredibly frustrating... the best thing I can compare it to is driving a pickup truck... what you're doing with your hands seems to have no connection to what's going on at the surface. I couldn't seem to get used to it, especially on my upper lip.

So, as I was getting out of the shower, I was getting ready to write it off entirely... then I looked in the mirror. Believe it or not, I got a better shave than usual, and I'm not breaking out on my chin and neck the way I normally do. Maybe there's something to it.

It still feels like I'm shaving my face with a sex toy, and there's nothing manly about that.

digital photography...

So, I've been playing around with my digital camera quite a bit in the past few weeks, and I've been participating in challenges over at dpchallenge. I decided to put two of my more impressive shots here (both used pretty extensive post-production editing):

New apartment!

So, Sabrina and I faxed in our applications for the new apartment last week...

While at STPR, I was in a bit of a funk with worry, afraid that I wouldn't be approved because of my somewhat abysmal credit and bad history with roommates. Just got a call from the leasing agent... we're approved!

So, toward the end of July, I'm moving a few minutes south into Nashua, NH. Rockin'.
