Shouts out to Dr. Loin Hammer and MC Pork Compressor...

Thursday, January 10, 2002

I went out to Barnes & Noble last night, chilled out with some espresso (okay, so maybe "chilling" is the wrong word... 6 shots of regular espresso, 2 decaf) and my QY70. I came up with some decent beats. Not too bad for someone who's never used a sequencer before two days ago.

Well, back to work. Hope you enjoy the music.

Got my QY70 last night, and damn, it rules. Lots of fun... a little complicated to figure out, but still quite cool.

I went to a high school reunion kind of thing at the Academy, and bumped into a bunch of old friends... went out for sushi with Bijaya, got to talk a lot... she's really understanding on a friendly level about a lot of things that I've been dealing with, and she and I both had really, really bad endings to our respective relationships. I hope I get to see her more before she heads back to Minnesota to finish up her math degree... though, if she ends up going to UMich for her masters, I'll get to see her whenever I head out that way, which would be cool.

I'm hacking on a bunch of code here at work, and when I get out today, I think I'm going to go get something to eat, then head out to Barnes & Noble and chill out with coffee and self-created beats.

Still waiting for my QY70. Got lots of snow yesterday, and had a good time spinning around in circles... a snow-covered Impreza dancing in the powder gets a lot of attention from the local citizenry, and the local constabulary. No tickets, no dents, no major scratches. My baby is sitting out in front of the office covered in mud, grime, salt, snow, ice, and, I imagine, a really, really huge grin.

Thou hast not seen road grime until thou hast been in New Hampshire during a major snowstorm.

Mrnf. BBC One, some Coke to drink, an IBM Model M keyboard under my fingers, and a brand-spankin' new 18.1" digital LCD flat panel jacked into my GeForce3 here at work.

I'd be incredibly happy if it wasn't only 2PM.

End of day! Come now!

Stale bran flakes are better than a Thursday

Katsumi finally updated his blog over at Decepticonz.Net after a long hiatus. Let's hope he keeps putting his daily thoughts up. His little gems of weirdness have always brought a smile to my face.

In other news, I'm waiting eagerly for my Yamaha QY-70 to show up. It was shipped today via UPS ground, so I get to wait forever. Come hold your breath with me and follow the UPS tracking information.

Ah fyck.

Need new brakes on the car soon. That's a coupla' hundred I wasn't expecting to shell out. <sigh>
I just won a Yamaha QY-70 sequencer of my very own on eBay for $221. That's $100 cheaper than the one at Daddy's Junky Music. Rule. I can't wait to get this thing and start writing up some beatz of my very own.
